2026 Alaska State 2-Person Best Ball Championship

Tournament Schedule

  • Saturday, July 25: Shotgun Start at 9:00 AM
  • Sunday, July 26: Shotgun Start at 9:00 AM

Entry Fee

  • $450 per team
    Includes: Green fees, range access, food, prizes, and tournament administration

Transportation

Golf carts are optional and available at the player’s expense. A maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart is permitted. Shared carts are expected unless a valid medical exemption is provided.


Key Dates & Field Limit

  • Registration Opens: May 10,2026 at 12:00 PM
  • Last Accepted Date of Entry: July 18, 2026, at 10:00 PM
  • Field Limit: First 100 eligible players (50 teams) to complete registration

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, each player must:

  1. Have an active Handicap Index® issued through a WHS-licensed AGA member golf club
  2. Have posted at least eight (8) scores at AGA member courses within the 18 months prior to the entry deadline

Championship Format

  • 36-Hole Four-Ball Stroke Play (18 holes per day)
  • Divisions: Men’s and Women's
  • Awards: Top finishers in both Gross and Net (1st and 2nd place)
  • Tiebreaker: A hole-by-hole playoff will determine 1st-place ties only

Men's Division

  • White Tees - MEN
  • Red Tees - WOMEN

Rules & Local Policies

  • F-13: Relief from animal hoof damage
  • F-14: Loose impediments (e.g., wood chips) considered Ground Under Repair (GUR)
  • Relief is permitted from all marked GUR areas
  • Rule 3-3: In case of doubt, play a second ball and report the situation to the Committee

Driving Range

Opens one hour prior to the first tee time each day. Range balls will be staged at the facility—no purchase necessary at check-in.


Scoring & Pairings

  • Scoring: Electronic via the Golf Genius Mobile App
  • One scorer per group is responsible for entering scores
  • Scores must be verbally confirmed with playing partners at the end of each round
  • Paper scorecards are required as a backup and must be retained
  • Pairings:
    • Round 1 pairings will be published in advance via Golf Genius
    • Re-pairings for Round 2 will be based on standings

Player Agreement & Consent

By submitting an entry, each participant agrees to the following:

  • They meet all eligibility requirements
  • Their entry may be denied or withdrawn by the AGA Tournament Committee or host club for reasons including:
    • Conduct deemed unbecoming
    • Failure to comply with AGA policies or tournament conditions
  • They accept personal liability for any risks associated with tournament participation, including health-related risks
  • They waive the right to protest any decisions made by the AGA or Tournament Committee
  • They grant the AGA permission to use their name, image, and event-related information for promotional and media purposes
